INSURANCE & PAYMENT

We believe quality mental health care should be as accessible as possible. All LifeSpire therapists are on panel (in-network) with the following major insurance providers, and our team is happy to help verify your benefits before your first appointment:

  • Highmark Blue Shield - Commercial plans only (does not include Medicare and Highmark Wholecare (Medical Assistance/Medicaid))

  • Capital Blue Cross - Commercial plans only

  • Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield (Federal Employee Program)

  • UPMC Health Plan - Commercial plans only (does not include UPMC for Life (Medicare) and UPMC for You (Medical Assistance/Medicaid), as well as other non-commercial plans.)

  • Independence Blue Cross

  • Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield

  • Premera Blue Cross/Blue Shield

  • Several other Blue Cross/Blue Shield Commercial plans

Commercial insurance is private, non-government health insurance that is most commonly obtained through an employer, purchased individually from a private company or marketplace plan.

Please contact your insurance to ensure we are on panel (in network) with your plan.  They can also determine if you have a copay, deductible, or coinsurance. If you owe a copay, deductible, or coinsurance, this is due at the time of service in exact cash or check written out to LifeSpire, LLC.

Please be aware some particular Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans will "carve out" their mental health benefits to be managed by another insurer (i.e. Optum, United Behavioral Health).  LifeSpire is not on panel (in network) with these insurances.

If we are not in plan (in network) with your insurance, you may have out of network benefits and be able submit to your insurance for some type reimbursement.  Contact your insurance to see if you have this benefit. You must pay the full fee at each appointment and we will provide you with a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company.

Some people prefer not to use their insurance benefits since insurance requires us to diagnose you with a mental health diagnosis and this becomes part of your permanent medical record. Your therapist can explain further at your first appointment.

Self-Pay Fees

If you're not using insurance or prefer to self-pay, we offer transparent pricing for our services. If you use insurance, you may not owe the full amount of the fees we charge depending on your plan benefits. You may only owe a copay, deductible, or coinsurance. Please contact your insurance about your benefits and verify we are in-network with your particular plan.   For any other questions, please call our office at 717-745-6166.

*CONSULTATION - Depending on who you ask, consultation may mean a number of different things.  We view  consultation as a short-term professional relationship in which we use our expertise to provide you with recommendations/ suggestions about how to proceed with your unique situation or dilemma.  For example, parents may have questions about treatment options if their child may be experiencing problematic behaviors.  We can consult with parents about their unique situation and provide suggestions/recommendations for their next steps in helping their child.  Sometimes we find that individuals are not sure if therapy is what he or she is looking for or if it's an evaluation/assessment.  If you are not sure what you need, we can always meet for a consultation first.

*PSYCHO-EDUCATION - Psycho-education is NOT THERAPY and is NOT able to be billed under insurance.  An example of this would be Cooperative Parenting sessions, which may be court-ordered in situations where parents are divorced or the parents are involved in legal issues regarding child custody.  Cooperative Parenting is typically 8 sessions long and each parent is responsible for half of the fee.  We would typically meet every other week.  Please call or email for more information.
